2026-2027 Extended Day Program Information
Extended Day Program Registration 2026-2027: What Families Need to Know
We’re transitioning to a new registration platform, Mekanys. If your child is already enrolled through OneList, there’s nothing you need to do to maintain your current programming. OneList will remain available for viewing and modifying existing enrollments through the end of this school year. 2026-2027 Extended Day Programming registrations, however, will go through Mekanys starting May 19, 2026.
Introducing Our Registration Partner: Mekanys
WCDSB is pleased to introduce Mekanys as the technology partner behind our new online registration system. Mekanys is a Canadian company with experience delivering digital solutions for nonprofit and educational organizations across the country.
The new system is built on a robust, scalable platform and has been tailored specifically to meet the needs of WCDSB’s programs and families. It offers a streamlined, user-friendly registration experience that can be accessed from any device.
What We Heard and What We Changed
Thank you for sharing your feedback. This year, we’ve made two updates families asked for most:
- Siblings can now be registered together.
- If you have more than one child in our programs, you can register them all in one simple process.
- Current families get priority.
- If your child is enrolled and attending as of April 30, 2026, and you register between May 19-29, 2026, your family will receive priority placement for the upcoming year.
For full details, visit our updated Parent Handbook.
How to Register
Registration opens Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. for all families.
If you are currently enrolled in extended day programming, register between May 19–29, 2026 to have your priority status applied.
All families will receive their registration confirmation and status the week of June 1, 2026.
Please note that demand for some programs is high, and waitlists may apply. Registering during the priority window gives current families the best chance at placement for the upcoming year.
Fee Update for 2026–27
Following approval by our Board of Trustees, daily fees will increase by $1, an adjustment of approximately two per cent to help us keep pace with rising operational costs. This applies to families who are not eligible for funding under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program, which reduces daily childcare fees for eligible children under six. You can review the full fee schedule on our website.
What to Expect Next
You’ll hear from us again shortly before May 19, 2026. That communication will include a step-by-step parent guide from Mekanys to help you navigate the new platform, along with the direct registration link you’ll use on registration day.
Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve updated our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help you feel prepared ahead of May 19, 2026. If your question isn’t answered there, we’re happy to help. Email us at extended.day@wcdsb.ca or call 519-578-3660, ext. 2225. You can review the FAQs on our website.
A Note for Currently Enrolled Families
If your child is currently enrolled in a WCDSB Extended Day Program and you are using OneList, you do not need to take any action right now. OneList will remain available for families to view and modify existing programming through the end of the current school year.
Learn more about our programs on the Extended Day Programs webpage.
Thanks for your patience as we make these improvements. Your feedback continues to shape the experience we build for families, and we’re looking forward to a registration experience that reflects the care our programs are built on.
