Welcome to the Communications Department at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) 

We are dedicated to fostering transparent and effective communication within our vibrant Catholic school community. Our committed team serves as a vital link between our schools, families, students, and the wider community, ensuring that you are well-informed about the outstanding initiatives, educational programs, and faith-based values that inspire our work. As stewards of information, our department is responsible for managing public affairs, strategic communications, media relations, social media accounts, digital marketing, and emergency planning.

At the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, we recognize the immense potential of social media as a means to connect with our students, their families, and our broader community. It has become an invaluable tool for fostering meaningful engagement and sharing information.

In our commitment to ensuring that everyone can fully utilize this communication tool and engage constructively, we are dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space online. We will not tolerate comments that are harmful, hateful, threatening, or off-topic and disruptive. Comments that infringe upon the rights outlined in the Ontario Human Rights Code or violate WCDSB procedures or policies are also subject to removal. 

WCDSB reserves the right to remove comments or disable commenting if they create a hostile online environment. Furthermore, WCDSB reserves the right to remove followers or block users who consistently fail to adhere to our social media guidelines, or whose actions contribute to a hostile online environment. Our priority is to maintain a respectful and safe digital space for all members of our community. We believe in nurturing a digital community where respect, kindness, and inclusivity prevail.
