WCDSB Extended Day Program Registration Update – March 3, 2026
Registration for WCDSB Extended Day Programs will open this spring. We will share the exact date as soon as it is confirmed.
WCDSB is partnering with a new vendor to develop an improved online registration system for our extended day programs. This upgrade will offer families a more seamless and user-friendly experience, and we look forward to opening registration later this spring.
Currently, no action is required from families. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Please note: If your child attends a program operated by a third-party provider, please contact them directly for details about their registration process and timelines.
Updates Coming This Spring: Policies and Parent Handbook
Based on feedback from families, we are finalizing updated policies and practices designed to make accessing care clearer, more consistent, and more supportive. An updated Parent Handbook reflecting these improvements will be released in the coming weeks.
About WCDSB Before and After School Programs
Before and After School programs are offered in 37 WCDSB schools for students in kindergarten to Grade 6. WCDSB-operated programs are:
- Led by Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
- Guided by Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen?
- Licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act, making eligible families able to benefit from reduced fees through the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) funding plan
- Part of a broader vision for a seamless, accessible childcare system
A Note About Our Program Partners
Some WCDSB schools are also home to other before and after school programs or community program care options. These programs operate independently, and registration and timelines may differ from WCDSB-operated programs. Families wishing to enrol in 3rd party programs at St. Patrick or the new Southeast Galt Catholic school will receive specific communication about those programs.
