WCDSB’s Denise Francis Accepts Lt. Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Black Heritage Project
On February 24, 2022, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and John Ecker, Chair of the Ontario Heritage Trust, presented projects and individuals who made exceptional contributions to heritage conservation with the 2021 Lieutenant Governor's Ontario Heritage Awards. The ceremony was held virtually. Created in 2006, the Lieutenant Governor's Ontario Heritage Awards are annual juried awards administered by the Ontario Heritage Trust to recognize remarkable achievements in heritage conservation across the province.

Youth Eligible for Third Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Beginning Friday, February 18th
Waterloo Region – Starting Friday, February 18, all youth 12-17 years of age who have already received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible for their third dose 168 days (about six months) after their second dose. Important Information re: Annual Public Health Student Vaccinations for Grade 7, 8, 9 & 10
If your child is in Grade 7, 8, 9 or 10 this school year (2021/2022), they are eligible to receive their school program vaccines (hepatitis B, HPV and meningococcal) or complete the series if they have already started them. These vaccines are normally provided in each school but, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, are now available at Public Health offices in Waterloo and Cambridge.
