Suspected “Child in Need of Protection” Reporting – APS020

Reviewed/Revised: June 2004

PURPOSE

It is the expectation of the Waterloo Catholic District School system that staff will act promptly for the protection of the children in the care of staff, by reporting to a children’s aid society whenever they encounter cases of suspected “child in need of protection”. This must be regarded as an emergency of the utmost priority, and such cases must be acted upon immediately. The following procedure is designed to ensure compliance with the Child and Family Services Act whenever child it is suspected that a child is need of protection.
