Flag Protocol – APF014

PURPOSE

The purpose of this protocol is to outline the procedures for the raising and lowering of all flags at schools and at the Catholic Education Centre; including the National Flag, the Provincial Flag of Ontario, and approved flags, which recognize diverse communities represented within the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB). Unfolding world events or ethnic celebrations, globally or locally, may also prompt a request for recognition through the raising of a secondary flag. Secondary flags will acknowledge marginalized communities, as identified by the Ontario Human Rights Commission. This protocol also provides a process for such requests.
