Yes. The replacement school will be constructed on the existing property.
About the Temporary Move
Keeping our students and staff safe is always our top priority. Construction crews will need full access to the property and construction activity must be kept fully separate from students and staff. For that reason, students and staff will be temporarily relocated for the duration of the rebuild.
Students will be accommodated at St. Francis (K) CES at 154 Gatewood Dr, Kitchener.
The current estimate is one school year. Timelines will be updated as the project progresses.
Yes, the entire student body will relocate to the holding school together.
Transportation
Yes. To help make this transition as smooth as possible for families, all St. Bernadette students will be eligible for bus transportation to and from the holding school for the duration of the rebuild, if they live within the current St. Bernadette boundary.
Walk zones will not apply while students attend the holding school, as all students will be eligible for busing. Families are encouraged to utilize provided bus transportation or active school travel options (i.e. walking) to reduce congestion in the school zone.
