Settlement Support for Newcomer Families

To help families new to Canada feel welcomed and supported, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board partners with School Settlement Services through the YMCA of Three Rivers. This collaboration ensures that newcomer families receive guidance from Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) as they navigate both school life and the broader community. Services may include translation assistance, orientation sessions, and referrals to community resources tailored to each family’s needs. These supports are designed to ease the transition and foster strong connections between home, school, and community.
