Opening or Closing Exercises – APS032
Reviewed/Revised: September 2016
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board — through Board Policies I 001, “Ends” ” – “acts responsibly to ensure learners achieve their fullest potential in learning communities that are a living experience of Catholic faith.” This “preferred future” places our schools at the “heart of the community” where there exist “success for each” and “a place for all”.
What’s more, the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations envision:
- A discerning believer formed in the Catholic Faith community who celebrates the signs and sacred mystery of God’s presence through word, sacrament, prayer, forgiveness, reflection and moral living. [Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectation (OCGE) #1]
- A reflective, creative and holistic thinker who solves problems and makes responsible decisions with an informed moral conscience for the common good.[OCGE #3]
- A responsible citizen who gives witness to Catholic social teaching by promoting peace, justice and the sacredness of human life [OCGE #7]
Based on our beliefs and Ministry mandated procedures, the following Administrative Procedures Memorandum deals with Opening Exercises for the Board’s schools.
