Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
I hope you found summer to be a time that encouraged you to get outdoors with family and friends, enjoy the sunshine, create lasting memories, and recharge for the upcoming school year. As we prepare to welcome students back, we are excited to embark on a new journey of learning, growth, and community.
It was around this time last year when I first joined St. Peter School as your new principal. Some of you may recall that I shared a video introducing myself to you! I was so excited to meet you all, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to come in and get acquainted. Your warm welcome has made such a difference! I look forward to continuing the journey of getting to know many more of you. As I mentioned last year, my door is always open for a conversation or a visit.
As we prepare to close out the summer and begin another school year, I feel an even greater excitement and anticipation for the wonderful things to come for our Defender community.
Last year, we introduced our St. Peter Defender Theme Song, entitled My Defender. At each assembly, our students sang this song proudly, and it has now become embedded in all our hearts. The theme song speaks to the foundation of our faith, with God as our ultimate Defender! If you have not had the chance to hear it, here is the link: My Defender. We hope you’ll be inspired and join us in singing it on the first day of school!
This year, the theme for our board’s Pastoral Plan is Ignite! Our display board at the front of the school reflects one of our primary goals for our Defenders this year: to ignite success in the spiritual, emotional, and academic lives of our students. Achieving this will require commitment and hard work, but together, we can make it happen.
We have also said our goodbyes to staff members who have moved on and are once again blessed to welcome new staff members, who you will meet in the near future.
As always, our custodial staff has been hard at work to ensure our school reflects pride and excellence in its appearance.
The school office will open on Tuesday, August 27, at 8:30 a.m. If you are in the process of registering your child, please ensure all forms are completed online and all necessary documents are uploaded. If you are uncertain about the status of your child’s registration, please do not hesitate to contact the main office. We will provide you with as much information as possible. Please pay close attention to all updates shared by our school.
As part of the WCDSB, St. Peter School upholds the board’s mission and vision to provide quality Catholic education rooted in fostering a sense of community and belonging, nurturing responsible Defender students, and promoting high expectations in learning.
For information on items such as transportation, Cash Online, and more, please visit the board website and click on the “Parents” dropdown menu.
We look forward to humbly serving the students and families during the 2024-25 school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. L. Harris

Getting Ready for Kindergarten
Welcome to our school community!
We believe that all families are composed of individuals who are competent and capable, curious, and rich in experience. We know our families love their children and want the best for them. Families are experts on their children. They are the first and most powerful influence on children’s learning, development, health, and well-being. Families bring diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. Families should feel that they belong, are valuable contributors to their children’s learning, and deserve to be engaged in a meaningful way.
Welcome to Kindergarten Event You will be invited to our school this year in the spring, where we can gather in community and get to know each other! There will be an opportunity for you and your child to participate in activities together and ask questions. Let’s get ready to Talk, Create, Read and Play!

Catholic School Advisory Council
Welcome to our Catholic School Advisory Council!
The education of our children is a partnership, working together to build a strong school community. Welcome, we’re glad you’re here.
What is the Role of the Catholic School Advisory Council?
A school council is an advisory body that functions within the parameters of Ministry of Education and Board policy. School councils provide an opportunity and the means to advise the principal and the Board on any matter on the improvement of pupil achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents/guardians. The ultimate responsibility for the administration and management of the day-to-day operation of the school rests with the principal.
A school council is an important venue for the various stakeholders in education to work in partnership. Its role, in collaboration with the principal, staff, and the community, is to help set the priorities of the school and to enhance learning opportunities, through various activities, for the benefit of our children/students.
What a Catholic School Advisory Council is not
A school council is not a place to pursue your own agenda or advocate for your own child. Individual issues should be pursued through the classroom teacher and/or principal.
