Principal's Welcome
Principal’s Message
Dear families,
I hope this letter finds you well and that you enjoyed a restful, joy-filled summer—whether it was full of adventure, family fun, or simply quiet moments of relaxation. As we prepare to begin another school year together, I am filled with excitement to welcome back our returning students and extend a warm greeting to those who are new to our school community.
This year, our school community is embracing a powerful theme inspired by I Am One by Susan Verde—a story that beautifully illustrates how even the smallest actions can create ripples of change. Whether it’s a kind word, a brave choice, or a thoughtful gesture, each moment holds the potential to spread hope, peace, and love.
Rooted in faith, we will encourage our students to recognize their ability to make a difference, living out the message of Scripture: “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14). Each child in our care shines with unique gifts, and together, as a faith-filled family, we will nurture those gifts so they can illuminate the lives of others.
This year, we challenge each student to be the one – to lead with kindness, act with purpose, and live their faith – knowing that every choice they make sends ripples of change that can transform hearts, uplift others, and shape a brighter world. Our students, staff, parents, School Council, and volunteers work together to support our students. We offer many opportunities to be involved in learning, athletics, clubs, masses and liturgies.
On behalf of the staff, I thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. We look forward to a year of learning, growth, faith, and joy. Together, let us step into this new school year with hope, courage, and the belief that even one small action can make a big difference.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Labelle
Principal
Catholic School Advisory Council
Welcome to our Catholic School Advisory Council!
The education of our children is a partnership, working together to build a strong school community. Welcome, we’re glad you’re here.
What is the Role of the Catholic School Advisory Council?
A school council is an advisory body that functions within the parameters of Ministry of Education and Board policy. School councils provide an opportunity and the means to advise the principal and the Board on any matter on the improvement of pupil achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents/guardians. The ultimate responsibility for the administration and management of the day-to-day operation of the school rests with the principal.
A school council is an important venue for the various stakeholders in education to work in partnership. Its role, in collaboration with the principal, staff, and the community, is to help set the priorities of the school and to enhance learning opportunities, through various activities, for the benefit of our children/students.
What a Catholic School Advisory Council is not
A school council is not a place to pursue your own agenda or advocate for your own child. Individual issues should be pursued through the classroom teacher and/or principal.

Land Acknowledgement
The schools in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board are situated on the Haldimand tract of land that is the traditional home of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Chonnonton People. We acknowledge the enduring presence and deep traditional knowledge, laws and philosophies of the Indigenous Peoples with whom we share this land today.
We seek a new relationship with the Original People of this land, one based on honour and deep respect. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn here and reaffirm our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our community.
