School Health Support Services

WCDSB works in partnership with the Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre (WW CCAC) to coordinate provision of school health support services for students with special needs. School staffs are able to make referrals to CCAC to determine eligibility for a range of school health support services in order to provide health care for students so that they may participate at school. The school health support services that may be provided, once eligibility is determined include:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Nursing
  • Speech Therapy

More information on Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre CCAC may be obtained at www.ccac-ont.ca

WCDSB also has a number of Administrative Procedures in place to provide information and protocols for specific health related situations such as Anaphylaxis/Severe Allergic Reaction, Administration of Oral Medication and so on.

These administrative procedures can be located on the WCDSB website in the About Us section of the main website under Policies and Administration or by using the following link www.wcdsb.ca/ap_memos.html and then scrolling down to the section titled Administrative Policies and Procedures.
