Letter from the Director

Welcome to School!

Welcome to your new Catholic school…and to the Kindergarten years – a time of wonder, learning and growth!

Loretta NottenFor more than 180 years Waterloo Region’s Catholic schools have been the “heart of the community” – offering success for each and a place for all – and providing a quality, inclusive, faith-based educational experience for students ranging from Kindergarten all the way to Adult & Continuing Education.

Our purpose as a Catholic school system is to instill the teachings of Jesus in all that we do, educating and nurturing hope in our young people, and in ways large and small, transforming the complex and changing world in which we live. It’s an ongoing process of developing the leaders of tomorrow that begins on the very first day of school.

Everything we do in our schools is grounded in the Gospels and directed to achieving the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations. So you can be confident your child will one day graduate from our school system as a “discerning believer, effective communicator, reflective & creative thinker, life-long learner, collaborative contributor, caring family member and responsible citizen.”

As Director of Education (and a proud graduate of Ontario’s Catholic education system myself) I am inspired each and every time I enter a Kindergarten classroom by the energy and excitement of our future graduates as well as their teachers, early childhood educators, educational assistants and volunteers. Our schools really are THE place to be in Waterloo Region.

We thank you for taking us up on our invitation to “come experience the difference” a Catholic education can make for your child and we wish your child a rewarding and faith-filled journey in our school system for many years to come.

Sincerely Yours,

Loretta Notten
Director of Education
