Position: Junior Web Designer Co-op
General Description of Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and receiving mentoring and direction from the Digital Media and Marketing Officer, this position will assist in the migration, optimization and maintenance of the main WCDSB website on the WordPress platform and will assist in the creation of a new website sitemap and individual webpage layouts.
In addition, this position will help enhance and maintain 45 elementary school websites in the WordPress platform, while implementing new features and assist in the migration of content from the Board’s StaffNet, currently on a SharePoint 2010 platform to SharePoint Office 365.
Enrolled in or completed a Computer Science/Technology diploma or degree
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and networking
Basic knowledge of website maintenance using Dreamweaver, WordPress and SharePoint
Attention to detail and strong communication skills are important during all stages of the project.
Hourly Wage: $16.50/hour
Hours of Work: 35 hours/week. Starting as soon as possible to December 31, 2018.
Location(s): 35 Weber St. West, Kitchener, ON with possible travel within the region.
