Revised – Junior Financial Analyst

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, this challenging position will be responsible for:

 

  • Preparation of the salary and benefits budget for our transportation consortium and assist with preparation for the
  • Board salary and benefit budget
  • Working in collaboration with the Senior Financial Analyst to monitor budgets, prepare variance analysis, projections and financial reporting for management
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly internal monitoring reports
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget presentation materials, including Meritorious Budget Award report
  • Working in collaboration with the Payroll Supervisor to develop standard review processes and templates to highlight anomalies
  • Developing reports for internal use and review existing reports for improvement opportunities
  • Assist with developing school budget allocations and monitoring school budgets
  • Preparation of monthly Key Performance Indicators
  • Working closely with budget holders to assist with budget monitoring and support
  • Assisting with year-end audit preparation and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in a business-related field
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and advanced computer applications (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and language skills

 

Desirable Assets:

  • School board or other public sector experience
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics NAV

 

Salary Range:

PASS Level 3, $56,279-66,208 per year in accordance with the PASS Terms of Employment

Hours of Work:  Permanent full time:   35 hours per week/52 weeks per year
