School Closure and Boundary Change Process Review

The Board of Trustees is currently reviewing the procedures used to conduct School Closure Reviews and Boundary Reviews.

The purpose of School Closure/Boundary Reviews is to make our school system more efficient, maximize the use of our resources and balance enrolment amongst schools.

Reviews are carried out by an Accommodation/Boundary Review Committee made up of principals and parent representatives from each school, board staff, and Trustees. Where school closures are considered the committee may include representatives from the City/Township and the business community.

Reviews involve an extensive public consultation component with the purpose of both sharing information with the public and obtaining public feedback.

Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who completed the survey. The input we received will be taken into consideration and will influence changes to the process and practices for future school closure and boundary reviews. The revised policy will be brought to the November 24th Board meeting.
